UPDATE (11:15 PM): KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — The Consumers Energy outage mapsays that there are no more widespread power outages in the Kalamazoo County area.
ORIGINAL: KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — Consumers Energy says they are working to restore power to nearly 6700 homes in Kalamazoo County.
Officials with the energy company say that a piece of equipment malfunctioned at one of their substations in the area a little after 6 PM Monday evening. Crews are working to get the part fixed and are estimating that power will be restored by 11:00 PM.
