GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office reports that they have filed felony charges against the Plainfield Township Supervisor.

Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker tells us that Jay Spencer was charged Wednesday with one count of Larceny by Conversion, $20,000 or more.  Becker says the charge carries a punishment which could include ten years in prison or $15,000 fine, or three times the value of the property stolen.

Becker says the larceny does not involve money of Plainfield Township.  He will be arraigned later in Wyoming District Court.

Spencer is in his first elected term of being township supervisor.
