GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids citizens questioned the final three candidates in the running for 2nd Ward City Commissioner at Monday's packed Town Hall meeting.
The meeting was a chance for the public to meet the candidates and to voice their concerns. Tami Vandenberg, Joe Jones, and Terry Mcgee are the three competing for the seat vacated when Rosalynn Bliss took over as mayor, which covers a large part of the Northeast side.
Monday's top issues for discussion included diversity, affordable housing opportunities, and racial equity. Other topics of discussion included Flint's water crisis, homelessness, and alternative transit.
The city commission will make their formal vote to appoint another 2nd Ward City Commissioner on February 23.
