MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A camp counselor who had been accused of entering into campers’ beds and inappropriately touching them has pleaded no contest to one of his criminal sexual conduct charges.
The Mecosta County Prosecutor’s Office says that William Nealy, 24, pleaded no contest to second-degree criminal sexual conduct Jan. 13.
Nealy, a former employee at the Christian camp Cran-Hill Ranch, was accused of sneaking into campers’ bunks the week of June 21 and touching them.
He told other counselors that he had a problem with sleep walking. He allegedly did it again on July 9, after which he was released from the camp.
His other charge, conspiracy to commit criminal sexual conduct, was dismissed.
Nealy is set to be sentenced Feb. 29.
