KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Three people are behind bars after being found in possession of cocaine, guns, and a lot of marijuana, Kalamazoo police say.

The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team executed two search warrants and three arrest warrants on Thursday in the 500 block of Florence Street. The area had been under investigation for two months after several citizen complaints of drug trafficking and violence.

Investigators say that at the scene, they found crack cocaine packaged and ready for sale. In addition, they found: a large amount of marijuana, items used for packaging and distributing narcotics, ammunition, and evidence that firearms had been discharged.

During the bust, investigators also arrested three suspects on felony drug warrants: a 41-year-old female and two males: a 21-year-old and a 25-year-old. All three are Kalamazoo residents and were lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Police urge those in the area to contact the enforcement team with information regarding illegal drugs or firearms at 269.337.8880 or anonymously through Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
