Shots fired in Washington Heights, suspect arrested

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A man was arrested after police heard shots fired in Washington Heights Sunday morning.

Battle Creek Police say officers heard gun shots around 4:40 a.m. in the northwest side of the area. Officers on the scene saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high speed and pursued it.

Police managed to stop the vehicle and took the man into custody.

Officers report they found a handgun, which appeared to be thrown out of the vehicle during the pursuit.

There are currently no victims or damaged property.
