WEST MICHIGAN — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of West Michigan Monday.

The following counties will be under the winter storm warning from 10 AM Monday till 6 AM Tuesday: Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ionia, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Oceana, and Ottawa counties.

Calhoun, Kalamazoo, and Van Buren counties will be under a winter weather advisory from 9 AM Monday till 4 AM Tuesday.

Preliminary freezing rain accumulation numbers could be between .25″ and .50″, coupled with winds that could reach 50 mph. This has the potential to freeze up traffic and knock out power lines for an extended period of time.
