GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Popular hardcore rock band La Dispute has decided to make all of their albums available free today for Christmas. Any money that fans choose to donate when they download an album will benefit the Grand Rapids Creative Youth Center.
La Dispute got it’s start in Grand Rapids during the early 2000’s. Since then they have recorded several albums and toured across the country.
The band posted a message on their social media Friday morning telling their fans that for the next 24 hours all of their albums would be available for free download via their Bandcamp page.
Any donations the band receives during the 24 hour period will be donated to the Grand Rapids Creative Youth Center. The center’s website outlines their mission:
Our mission is to prepare kids for life’s adventures by supporting their writing and amplifying their voices.
At the CYC, kids become published authors, leading to a strong sense of identity and an enthusiasm for learning. Our programs are free for all students attending Grand Rapids Public Schools.
