TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich . – A 79-year-old Grand Rapids man was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a crash on Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ironwood Drive at Johnson Street in Tallmadge Township.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said a 2006 Buick Lacrosse driven by the man failed to yield for a stop sign and struck a 1997 Chevy pickup. The driver of the truck, an 18-year-old man from Walker, was not hurt. His passenger was taken to the hospital but was listed in stable condition.
The elderly man suffered critical injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
