CASS COUNTY, Mich. — A car driven by a drunk driver crashed into a tree Saturday afternoon, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

It happened at approximately 2:23 PM. Deputies were called to the area of M-40 north of Gooding Street. There, officials found that a northbound car driven by Malcolm Hudson, 50, of Marcellus lost control and collided head-on into a tree. Authorities suspect that alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Hudson was taken to Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw for his injuries by ambulance.

The case remains under investigation.
