10 dogs taken from home after evidence of abuse

BURLINGTON TWP, Mich. — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office seized 10 dogs from a home in Burlington Township because of apparent animal abuse.

On Friday deputies found 10 dogs at the home appearing to be malnourished. Investigators are treating it as a case of animal cruelty.

Police would not say where in Burlington Township the home was located.

This is at leastthe second animal cruelty report in the past couple months coming out of Burlington Township.

The investigation is ongoing.
