MUSKEGON, Mich. — Michael Lamar Wabindato, 27, of Muskegon, was arraigned in court Wednesday, accused in an attempted robbery earlier this week.

Prosecutors said a woman informed them she was near the downtown market in the area of 45 E. Muskegon Avenue when she said she was approached by a man who asked her for bread or money. Prosecutors confirm the victim went into the store before the suspect asked her for money a second time in the area of Spring and Yuba.

Officials said the suspect pulled out a gun fired a shot into the air after the woman refused to give the man her phone. The suspected apparently threatened to kill the woman and fired another shot before being arrested.

Wabindato is considered at three-time habitual offender, and bail was set at $100,000.
