Volunteers help rebuild home after fire that displaced family of nine

Posted

LANGSTON, Mich. — Volunteers gathered over the weekend to spend their free time helping to rebuild a home on West Briggs street in Langston.  In February the home caught fire and burned to the ground, displacing the Bailey family.

Both parents and their seven children have been living without heat and a permanent home for months.

Buddy Bailey, one of the parents, says a school bus driver who was dropping the kids off asked how the house was coming along and took it upon herself to help out by declaring the weekend as the perfect time to gather volunteers to help rebuild the home. The goal was to get the family settled in before theholidays.

The Bailey family said they were very thankful for the support from the community but say they're still in need.  If you'd like to donate you can reach Buddy Bailey at (616)232-0206.
