SPARTA, Mich. — A 60-year-old man died Tuesday after being attacked by a bull at a Sparta area farm.

The bull got away from farm employees who were attempting to load it into a trailer and then attacked the man in a barn, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.   The man was struck in the head and chest several times, officials said.

Aero Med was dispatched to the area but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kent County Animal Control responded to the farm and did not find any animal violations, according to a release.

The victim’s name and the name of the farm are not being released until the man’s family is notified, the sheriff’s department said in a release.
