GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Police continue to search for those responsible following a shooting Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they arrested a 14-year-old and 16-year-old they believed were in connection to the incident. On Tuesday evening, GRPD said the pair were not involved and were released.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of St. Isidore Catholic Church on Diamond Street NE. The school building was locked down briefly, but school officials say no children were inside at the time of the incident.
One person, a 25-year-old man, was shot in the stomach, according to GRPD. It’s unclear how severe the victim’s injuries are at this time.
A third person was arrested near the scene, but it was determined that he had nothing to do with the shooting.
Detectives are following up on other leads.
