LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development says that during a two-week blitz inspecting Michigan gas pumps, they found a dozen credit card skimming devices.

MDARD’s Weights and Measures inspectors found and removed nine devices, while two were removed by a local police department and one was removed by a gas station owner.  All the devices were turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.

According to MDARD, the credit card skimmers can’t be seen outside the pump. They are located inside where the devices make a copy of the consumer’s card information.
