Lakeview man pleads ‘no contest’ in fatal drunk driving crash

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – A man accused in a drunk driving crash that killed a man over the Memorial Day weekend has pleaded “no contest” in court.

Richard Rish of Lakeview entered the plea Tuesday to OWI Causing Death.  He will be sentenced on October 19th.

Bernard Langmeyer and his wife Debra were in their car on the side ofI-196 on Saturday, May 23rd when their car was hit from behind by Rish’s vehicle.  Bernard was killed in the crash.  According to court records, Rish had a blood alcohol content of over .08, which is the legal limit in Michigan.

Rish could be sentenced for up to 15 years in prison.
