NASHVILLE, Mich. — The Barry County Prosecutor and the Nashville, Mich. police department are looking for help in finding child victims of a man accused of manufacturing and distributing thousands of child porn images and videos.

According to Barry County Prosecutor Julie Nakfoor Pratt,  Nashville Police began investigating 69-year-old David Heinsen in July after child pornography was found on his computer.  That man has since been charged in both state and federal court and he will be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

During the investigation, which partnered with the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and Michigan State Police, more than 650,000 images and 3,000 videos were found of child sexually abusive material.  Many of the images include children of all ages, including toddlers, being sexually abused and tortured, according to Pratt.

Nashville Police Chief Chris Koster confronted Heinsen, who admitted the materials were his and that he’d sexually abused girls in the past, according to a news release.

One victim includes the Heinsen’s neighbor in 1989, who was 8 years old at the time and has Down syndrome.  He allegedly also took pictures of the abuse.  The case went unsolved because of the girl’s limited vocabulary, until now.

Heinsen also allegedly told Koster her prefers girls from 10-12 years old.

Koster told the prosecutor this was worst case he had seen in his 30 years of law enforcement.

Authorities are looking for anyone else in the Nashville area who may have been a victim to call the prosecutor’s office at 269-945-1297.
