IONIA COUNTY, Mich. -- Two West Michigan siblings used more than $120 that they made at their lemonade stand to buy supplies for the Ionia County Animal Shelter.

Kendalyn Grayz, 5, and her brother, 16-year-old Brian Smith, purchased treats, laundry detergent, cat litter, bleach and toys for the shelter after setting up their lemonade stand earlier this month.

Kendalyn, who is going into kindergarten, visits the shelter once a week and says she wants to help all the animals that she can.

The siblings' mom, Kristin Johnston, says they advertised the lemonade stand on social media and couldn't believe the community's response.   They raised a total of $122.

Officials with the animal shelter tell FOX 17 that they were shocked and thankful for the donation.   There are currently 15 dogs and 50 cats waiting to be adopted at the shelter.

If you'd like to donate to the Ionia County Animal Shelter you can drop off your donations directly to 3853 Sparrow Dr. or send checks in the mail.
