Recall Roundup: Children’s night lights, prescription bottles, and outdoor dining sets

BETHESDA, Md. — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced several new recalls this week, for products that include night lights sold by IKEA, certain pharmaceutical bottles made by Merck, and dining sets sold at Rite Aid.

Below is the information on these latest recalls.

Recalled IKEA Night Lights

IKEA PATRULL Night light — The night light’s plastic covering can detach and expose electrical components, posing an electrical shock hazard.  About 359,000 units are impacted.  One minor injury was reported in Australia.  Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the recalled product and contact IKEA for a full refund.  Click here for more information on this particular recall.

Recalled Merck Bottles

Merck bottles with cracked caps containing Temodar® (Temozolomide) and Temozolomide (generic) capsules — The bottle cap can be cracked which can cause the child-resistant closure to become ineffective to young children who can gain unintended access to the capsules, posing a risk of poisoning.  About 276,000 units are impacted.  No injuries are reported.  Replacements are available upon request.  Click here for more information on this particular recall.

Recalled Outdoor Dining Set

Rite Aid Outdoor Dining Sets — The chair arms and legs can bend and cause the user to fall, posing a risk of injury.  About 13,000 units are impacted.  The firm has received four reports of chairs bending unexpectedly, including four reports of injuries to the lower back and hip.  Chairs can be returned for a full refund.  Click here for more information on this particular recall.
