FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The investigation continues as to what caused a deadly crash earlier this week.
Authorities tell FOX 17 News, 62-year-old Negoc Wiegand of Egelston Township died when the car she was riding in crashed Wednesday morning.
It happened along East Broadway Avenue near Mill Iron Road when the driver of a Ford Ranger pick-up truck crossed the center line and struck the car Wiegand was riding in. Police said the driver of the car, a male, was taken to the hospital. The driver, of the pick-up, a 56-year-old man from Hesperia was hospitalized and underwent surgery for his injuries. Authorities said he was covered in bright yellow paint following the crash, They said he was transporting paint prior to the crash.
