GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A teenager was rushed to the hospital after police say he was shot early Wednesday morning.  We have learned from our crew on the scene that the victim has died.

It happened on Adams St. near Marshall Ave. on the city's southeast side.  It is not clear just yet what led up to the shooting, but officials with the Grand Rapids Police Department say the victim, identified as 17-year-old Marquaan Crosby, was shot at least once in the torso.  He died at the hospital.

Crosby was walking with a group of three other people when an unknown male subject approached, fired several shots into the group, and ran off.  Crosby was the only one who was hit.

Officers attempted to track a suspect, but they were unsuccessful.  Anyone with information is asked to call GRPD at 616-456-3400.
