Video: U.S. Coast Guard saves three men and a dog from sinking boat

OAHU, Hawaii — New video from the United States Coast Guard shows a helicopter rescue operation, in which four survivors were hoisted out of the ocean and taken safely back to shore.

A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point rescues the four survivors, three men and a dog, of the sinking of the 70-foot catamaran Brandi Anne 41 miles northeast of Oahu’s North Shore Aug. 9, 2015. The master of the vessel made a mayday call to the Coast Guard at 12:44 p.m. to report the vessel sinking and the crew abandoned ship into a life raft.
