GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – There will soon be more ways for West Michigan residents to get to Florida this winter.
Allegiant Airlines announced new direct flights from Grand Rapids to Punta Gorda, Florida Tuesday morning. The new flights will be available starting on November 4th. The flights will operate twice a week.
One way fares start at $49 and you can start buying tickets this Friday. The $49 flights are good through February 16, 2016.
Punta Gorda is Allegiant’s sixth destination. Allegiant is starting service to Fort Lauderdale on December 16.
“We are thrilled that Allegiant is once again expanding in our market and growing its Grand Rapids-Florida nonstop opportunities,” said Gerald R. Ford International Airport Executive Director Brian Ryks in a press statement. “Punta Gorda offers access to the Fort Myers / Sanibel and Captiva Island area, a popular vacation spot for many Michiganders.
