GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An important downtown highway ramp will be closed started Tuesday morning.
The ramp from westbound I-196 to southbound US-131 will close at 9:00am Tuesday and will remain closed through Thursday at 3:00pm for bridge work. The posted detour will take westbound travelers past US-131 to Lane Avenue, turn left on Lane and the left again on 1st Street to get back onto eastbound I-196. Drivers can then get off at southbound US-131.
The work is dependent on the weather.
