MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon’s “Sweetheart Swindler,” Jeffrey Lucas, was sentenced Friday to at least 9 years in prison Friday, according to the office of Judge Timothy Hicks.

Lucas, 34, could spend a maximum of 32 years behind bars.  He pleaded guilty May 15 to two counts of felony larceny by false pretenses and was a fourth-time habitual offender.

Officials say Lucas conned several women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.   Some of the victims spoke up in court Friday, according to Judge Hicks’ office.

Lucas fled the state and was arrested in Florida before being brought back to Michigan in January to face charges.
