Calhoun Co. residents still dealing with washed out roads

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. - Four weeks after heavy rain washed out and damaged roads in Calhoun County, some drivers are still dealing with detours, including one man who says he's "fenced in" after the floods.

A good chunk of 12 and a Half Mile Road is gone.  Kenneth Barlond lives down the street and has about a three mile detour to get to the nearest road.  He also hasn't received mail at his house since the floods because the mailman can't get to him.  The post office has been just holding his mail and he has to go get it himself.

"They've marked the road," Barlond told us Wednesday. "And they've put up the signs and barrels last week...and it has been, what, four weeks?"

Friends and neighbors have been calling township offices and the county trying to get things fixed.  We tried as well and we haven't heard back.
