TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Crowds were out celebrating the holiday all across Michigan this weekend, but the U.S. Coast Guard probably caught one of the most impressive pictures of the party.
The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in Traverse City snapped the attached photo at the Torch Lake sandbar over the weekend, before the airshow at the National Cherry Festival. They post that their two-ship air crews flew over the scene “flying the flag” for the holiday.
The airshow at the Cherry Festival included an appearance from the Air Force Thunderbirds.
