KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening as he was trying to cross the street.
At approximately 10:52 p.m. on Saturday, Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to incident where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Bridge Street and Riverview.
The pedestrian, a 60-year-old male, was crossing Riverview Drive when he was struck by a vehicle.
According to police, the driver did not see the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and at this time is in critical condition.
Police reported that the area was very busy due to fireworks and there was a lot of traffic.
Alcohol and speed is not believed to have been a factor in the incident.
The incident is still under investigation.
