Gone Fishing – Catching fish in urban lakes

Posted

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Reeds Lake is an urban oasis, home to a lot of watersports and also, a lot of big bass.

Scott DeVries of Al & Bob's Sports showed us how to go after bass in an inland, urban lake.

First, look for "sunken islands." The fish hang out around them, because that's where the bait fish are.

Second, watch the weather.  Fish like unsettled weather, the times before and right after a front comes through.  They don't like high pressure days and head for deeper water.

Third, try the Wacky Rig Senko. You just cast it out and let in sink...and wait for the fish!

You can enter Al & Bob's Big Bass Photo Contest on their Facebook page. Just snap a photo of yourself and your big catch to win.  This week's winner is Tony Meyers.
