NORTH PLAINS TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 50 year old Ionia man was taken to a local hospital after a car accident on Hayes Road near Knight Road in North Plains Township at approximately 1:04 a.m. Sunday.
Ionia County Sheriff’s Office says that the man drove off the side of the road and hit a tree that overturned which eventually caused his vehicle to roll on its side.
The driver had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies say the driver was intoxicated and possibly under the influence of Marijuana.
The incident is undergoing further investigation and charges on the man are pending.
