GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids firefighters were on the scene for nearly two hours after being called to the River House condos in Grand Rapids on Friday evening for a sprinkler system malfunction.

The first call came in at 5:30 p.m. Friday. When Grand Rapids Fire Department firefighters arrived at the scene they found water gushing from underneath a door. The problem was traced to a broken sprinkler head.

Several trucks were at the condos as of 6:30 p.m., making sure the problem was contained.

The final truck cleared the scene at 7:07 p.m. Friday.

Firefighters told FOX17 NEWS that the water issue appeared to be isolated, and although there was damage, it was not believed to be extensive. There was considerable cleanup involved at the scene, however.

There were no reports of any kind of fire related to the incident.
