HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A child is dead after an overnight house fire in Ottawa County. The fire was reported at around 1:00 a.m. at a home on N. Bellwood Drive, which is just south of Riley Street.

When firefighters arrived, there were already heavy flames shooting from the home.  They would learn that four adults were able to escape, but a child was still inside.  That child, identified as 4-year-old Charlie Campa, did not survive.

One adult, identified as the victim's grandfather, suffered cuts and burns while trying to regain entry to the home in an effort to save the child.  He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of this fire has yet to be determined.
