HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — A Grand Haven man has been ordered to wear a GPS tether after his arraignment Thursday on charges of stalking a minor.
Bert Cook, 31, was arrested on the felony charge Thursday morning after Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle watching homes near 96th Avenue and Port Sheldon Road.
Cook was stopped on 96th Avenue and admitted he was watching the home of a 17-year-old girl, said a sheriff’s department release. He had not contacted the girl, but he had been watching her using binoculas, the department said.
A judge in Hudsonville District Court fined Cook $3,000 in addition to ordering Cook to wear a CPS tether.
Cook remains in Ottawa County Jail pending bond.
