KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. -- Investigators are trying to determine whether two shooting incidents Wednesday night and early Thursday morning in Kalamazoo County are related.
The first happened at about 10:08 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Phelps Avenue, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Police say a suspect fired multiple gunshots at a home and then ran to a nearby vehicle and fled.
Seven people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported.
The second incident was reported at about 3:21 a.m. in the 2900 block of Crystal Lane in Oshtemo Township, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department.
Just like in the first incident, a suspect fired eight gunshots at an apartment and then ran to a nearby vehicle and fled, deputies said in a release.
In this case, four people were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, including a sleeping child. No injuries were reported.
