Video shows Rapid buses being shot at in Kentwood

Posted

KENTWOOD, Mich. -- FOX 17 is getting a better look at the scary scene that unfolded on board a couple of Rapid buses that were shot at last month while they drove through Kentwood.

Through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), FOX 17 on Friday obtained on-board surveillance video from two buses that were hit with BBs or pellets in the area of 44th Street and Walma Avenue.

A bus stop and windows at a nearby school also were hit.

On one bus you can clearly see -- and hear -- the moment that the bus is hit. You hear the shot, see the lone passenger and the driver flinch, then hear the driver's startled reaction to it all.

Take a look at the attached video.

Last week the Kent County Prosecutor's Office announced that it was pursuing charges against two people in connection with the shootings -- Lamarrie Davis and another unnamed juvenile. Davis is expected to be arraigned next week.

All the shootings happened in the area of 44th and Walma near the Kentwood police station.

No one was seriously injured in any of the shooting incidents.
