GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A driver struck a pedestrian before crashing into a building along Michigan Street Thursday night.
Grand Rapids Police said it happened just before 10:00 p.m. at 833 Michigan Street NE.
Officials said a male driver was traveling westbound on Michigan Street and lost control.
Both the driver and the pedestrian were taken to the hospital, but no word on their injuries.
While crews were on the scene, Michigan Street was closed from Eastern Avenue to Houseman Avenue.
Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, and the driver was arrested after being treated.
