DECATUR, Mich.– A man is in jail after sheriff’s deputies said they found him driving drunk with his kids in the backseat Friday night.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputies said they pulled over Mitchell Majewski, of Indiana, on M-51 after seeing him drifting throughout traffic. His kids, 5- and 9-years-old, were apparently in the backseat. An open beer was also found inside the vehicle.
Authorities said Majewski had a suspended license in both Michigan and Indiana, as well as a warrant from another county.
The children were placed with family at the scene, and deputies said they’d be forwarding the incident to Child Protective Services.
Majewski was taken to the Van Buren County Jail with multiple charges.
