MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — A 41-year-old man is facing felony charges after officials say he broke into an adult foster care home and raped a developmentally disabled woman.

According to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office, Lenus Addis Bryant was arraigned Wednesday on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and home invasion.  He was charged as a fourth-time habitual offender and faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Bryant, a convicted sex offender, allegedly cut through the woman’s window screen last summer, came into her room and raped her.

According to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Maat, the incident happened July 21, 2014 at a foster care home on McIlwraith Street in Muskegon Heights.   Bryant and the woman knew each other, Maat said.

Bryant was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in June 1994, according to the Michigan sex offender registry.
