BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio. — A pregnant woman from Middleville and her unborn child were killed on the Ohio Turnpike Saturday morning due to injuries received in a multi-vehicle crash.
The eight vehicle crash happened around 11:30 a.m. in the west-bound lanes of the Ohio roadway. Five of the vehicles involved being semi-trucks.
The woman, Beverly Smith, 32, and her unborn child were killed after their vehicle became lodged under a semi truck. Her husband, Eric Smith, 33, was driving their Ford F-150 truck at the time of the accident.
