CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A baby girl died Friday and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the death.
At 6:25 p.m. Thursday, medical personnel were dispatched to the 10000 block of Old U.S. 27 for a 20-month-old girl who was unresponsive.
The child was taken by ambulance to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo where she originally was listed in critical condition.
At 9 p.m. Thursday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and advised that the child had sustained an injury. The Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force was activated to assist in the investigation.
At 2:37 p.m. Friday, the infant girl died.
An autopsy will be performed at a later date to determine the cause of death.
