GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.,-- Shari Steinbach from Meijer visited the Fox 17 studios to show us a delicious dish with tender chicken and mushrooms. It only takes 30 minutes to create this family-pleasing meal! It’s even delicious enough to serve for a holiday get together!
Creamy Dijon Chicken with Mushrooms
Makes 4 servings
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – on hand
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed – on hand
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper – on hand
1-1/4 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut crosswise into 1/2-inch slices - $3.74
1 tablespoon olive oil – on hand
1 package (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms – $1.29
1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup) - $0.50
1/2 cup dry white wine - $0.64
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell’s® Healthy Request® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup - $1.69
1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard – on hand
- Stir the garlic powder, thyme and black pepper in a small bowl. Season the chicken with the garlic powder mixture.
- Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 10 minutes or until well browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the chicken from the skillet.
- Add the mushrooms and onion to the skillet. Cook for 4 minutes or until tender-crisp, stirring often.
- Stir the wine in the skillet. Stir in the soup and mustard and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Return the chicken to the skillet. Cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling.
