MAYVILLE, Wis. — Two boys went to great lengths to make sure their gifts were Santa's top priority this year.
According to WITI,Blake and Brody called 911 in Mayville, Wisc., hoping to get on the Nice List.
“It was determined that a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old had dialed 911 and were attempting to contact Santa Claus,” Mayville Police officer Christopher MacNeill said.
Jennifer Becker, Blake and Brody's mother, said the boys wanted "big trucks" and a dirt bike from the North Pole this year.
“When they get together, they are devils,” Becker said.
She said she didn't realize her husband's phone was unlocked, and then police arrived at their door to investigate the call.
“We didn’t know what the situation was,” Officer MacNeill said about the boys' call.
The boys were talked to about calling Santa, and told to only try to talk to him in person from now on.
"One thing they have to understand is the North Pole is out of our jurisdiction — so there is not much we can do with helping them connect with Santa Claus,” Officer MacNeill said.
In the end the boys got a tour of the police station, and WITI reports that they were released early for good behavior.
