DETROIT, Mich -- Travis Russell scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:07 left in the game and Brett Wildman iced it with an interception as West Catholic defeated Lansing Catholic, 24-20, to win the schools 3rd football state championship.
Russell, finished the game 17-28 for 202 yards and a touchdown through the air and 29 carries and 134 yards and 2 scores on the ground.
The Falcons led 17-0 in the 2nd quarter before Lansing Catholic reeled off 20 consecutive points to take it's first lead of the game with 7:38 to play.
Charlie O'Connor had 4 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown for West Catholic who has now won 24 straight games.
