DETROIT, Mich -- It was close, for a half, but Muskegon Catholic Central pulled away from Munising for a 31-6 win in the division 8 state championship game.
The Crusaders trailed for the first time all season when the Mustangs socred on a 74-yard touchdown pass from Austin Kelto to Andy Cooper on the third play of the game.
MCC senior Tommy Scott returned the ensuing kickoff 99-yards for a touchdown and the Crusaders were in front 7-6.
Griffin Seymour hit a 25-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter to give MCC a 10-6 lead at the break.
Scott added rushing touchdowns of 1 and 30-yards in the 3rd quarter and a 9-yard score in the 4th as Muskegon Catholic Central won it's second consecutive title.
