ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 4-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday after a rollover crash on 68th Avenue at the Grand River overpass.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, a 35-year-old Coopersville man lost control of his pick-up truck on the icy bridge just at about 12:08 p.m. His vehicle crossed the center line, flipped over the guard rail and landed in a marshy area of the river.
The man was not injured in the crash, but officials say he carried his injured child from the river to the shoulder of the road and met emergency crews.
The boy was transported to DeVos Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries to his torso.
