GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. — Guinness has officially recognized a Detroit area man’s world record attempt for the ‘Most Skips of a Skimming Stone’ — and the final number of skips came in at 65 total skips!
Deadline Detroit reports that the new record-holder is Maxwell Steiner of Grosse Pointe Woods, who is now a student in Las Vegas.
This is what was posted on the official Guinness World Records website:
“The record for the most consecutive skips of a stone on water is 65 and is held by Maxwell Steiner (USA). The cast was achieved at Riverfront Park, Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA on 23 August 2014.
The previous record holder, Russell Byers (who achieved 51 skips at the same location, on 19 July 2007) was one of the witnesses for the record attempt.”
