JENISON, Mich.- Police have identified 26-year-old Tyler Hemmes as the man killed after a large branch fell onto him Saturday afternoon.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the 7700 block of Riverview Dr. behind the Cottonwood Forest condominium homes in Jenison.
Deputies said Hemmes and some friends were walking in a nearby wooded area when they located a large branch propped up on a tree. Hemmes pulled on the branch causing it to fall onto his chest, killing him.
