BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A group called "Byron Center Speaks" seeks to halt the proposed development of an apartment complex on 64th Street.
On Oct. 13, the township board voted 4-3 to approve the plan. Wisconsin-based company, Continental Properties Co. Inc., was given the green light to build the complex.
Township residents oppose the plan for various reasons, including rezoning of the land.
Byron Center Speaks started a petition. The groups goal is to collect enough signatures to get the issue on the ballot. This would then give voters the final say on the plan.
