GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– We’ve seen the movies that depict pirates but do we really know what a pirates life was like?
The Grand Rapids Public Museum wanted to share with Grand Rapids a pirates life. Their new exhibit, “Real Pirates” does just that.
The exhibit is open now through April and tells the story of the Whydah, a pirate ship that sank in 1717. Over 200 artifacts have been recovered from the ship including a brass bell that has the ships namesake on it.
The Whydah is the only known pirate ship to have been recovered and the story is definitely an interesting one.
